After months of planning we finally were able to put on the Annual Witney Carnival in conjunction with Witney Rotary Club, Witney Air Training Corp and Witney Round Table Club. This years theme was The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
The 2020 and 2021 Carnivals had to be postponed because of Covid, so it was a massive relief to all the organisers and to all those who attended (circa 8,000) the event, which took place in the scorching summer sun.
Because of the heat we had to take the decision to cancel the Dog Show at very short notice, overall, this was well received by the public as it was the welfare of the animals that took precedence.
More than 30 floats and vehicles were supported by marching bands and an array of adults and children all dressed up to celebrate The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
