Forest Fair update

Here are a few shots taken at yesterday’s ‘Wychwood Forest Fair’ event. The weather was kind and, with well over 2,000 visitors estimated, the day was a great success. Lions estimate that in excess of 800 cars were on site at the peak and we thank our team including friends of the club and members relations, for their hard work in keeping the visitor and stallholder traffic well parked and flowing in and out of the site during the day.

Calendar of events for 2023/24

The Club’s aims are to predominantly help others in the local communities and further afield.

Lions Club members and Friends of Lions get the opportunity to make new friends as we work together to serve the local community.

Building on this closer to home, the Club’s members and friends benefit from club organised/supported social events that further strengthen the relationships formed.

Please come back to check what’s on – will be updated regularly.

If you’re interested in helping your local community, volunteering, fund-raising, organising projects, using your talents, gaining new skills, making friends and having fun – you can do all of this and more as a Lions Club member or volunteer – Wyn Devonald, President

There’s nothing like being a Lion. We make a difference in our communities and in the lives of the people we help. Even though Lions spend most of their time giving, they also get so much in return – from as little as three hours a month.

Here’s some of the great benefits of being a Lion.

    • The fun and fellowship
    • Opportunities to lead
    • You get when you give
    • That ah-ha moment – Every member has a story about the moment they truly became a Lion. That day when they helped someone who had nowhere else to turn. The heartfelt thanks. The hope you restored through your kindness. That’s why we’re Lions.

These are just some of the great benefits of being a Lion. So share the joy of being a Lion by inviting a friend or family member to join you in helping the local community.

Make the most of each day – Make the most of your membership!

Giving. Gaining. Growing.

Witney Carnival
Topic
The Little Ox Brew Lions Bar Team - Always Ready To Serve

The Carnival is now the largest community family event in the town. Preparations start well before the actual day. The day before the Carnival our members erect two 6 x 12m marquees and three gazebos. Who would have thought that the Witney Lions Fun Run, with a few trade and charity stalls, would grow into Witney Carnival?

Witney Carnival is a large undertaking organised by the local Rotary Club, Lions Club, Round Table and Royal Air Force Air Cadets, with free entertainment for the general public. We generate a surplus which is used for local charity work.
